This book is a beautiful addition to my library, and will give me and my family decades of entertainment. I want something that will last, and even my granddaughter will read one day. Like some other Kindle editions of works which are out of copyright, this one showed signs of being the result of an automatic scan. Within the first scene I read, there was already a misprint of the type made only by computers --- "an" for "all". Also, the cast of characters was printed as a run-on list, with multiple roles on the same line and unseparated. I didn't wait to see how prevalent these problems were, but just returned the item instead. You'd think that with an author of the stature of Shakespeare, the publisher could afford one proofreader. Only some of the letters are missing, as if the typing of the book has been on a typewriter and the ink had been running low. It's not every other word it's about every other page or so. It's good gives character, and a good feel for the book. It's a book where one reads the table of contents and begins to read from the title. I am on Romeo and Juliet. It's a read from cover to cover the layout is more adventurous than that, but one could read it cover to cover. It looks so fancy and wonderful. I am very intrigued with this book. • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Xyrate -- A Gorgeously Put-Together Gift for Bibliophiles : I purchased this as a gift for an avid theatre and literary enthusiast and she absolutely loved it. As a rather big fan of his works myself, I can honestly say I am annoyed at buying such a nice gift for someone else. The pages are inlaid with gold-leaf and the bound book is beautifully arranged, the only downside being the two-column formatting throughout the book and the rather small font size. This can make it a little difficult to follow at points and can sometimes make it a bit of a challenge to skip to certain plays, however, this does mean you get to know his less familiar works whilst looking for your favourites. You not only have no introduction but the plays aren't titled and there's no content page. So, you basically can't find what you're looking for at all. To make it more confusing, Amazon reviews for all versions of the Complete Works of Shakespeare seem to all be the same (so not sure which is the best version to buy). The conversion from book to Kindle is appalling with multiple incorrect spellings and wierd word conversions - a bit like some of the instructions that come with low end electrical goods from the Far East.
